La precariedad del sistema de higiene y salud provoc\u00f3 que la epidemia se expandiera en poco tiempo y diezm\u00f3 la poblaci\u00f3n que rondaba en los 60.000 habitantes.<\/p>\n<p>En ese contexto Fray \u00c1ngel Mar\u00eda Boisdron fue a solicitar ayuda econ\u00f3mica a Elmina Paz de Gallo para poder ayudar a los ni\u00f1os hu\u00e9rfanos.
